The National UFO Reporting Center, located in Seattle, WA, was founded in 1974 by Robert J. Gribble. The center's primary function over the past two decades has been to receive, record, and to the greatest degree possible corroborate and document reports from individuals who have been witness to unusual, possibly UFO related events.
Several facets of the center and its affiliated hotline have contributed to its international reputation. The fact that the hotline is staffed up to 24 hours a day makes it available at almost any time a sighting may occur. In addition, the center's independence from all other UFO related organizations, combined with its long standing policy of guaranteed anonymity to callers, has served to make it perhaps the most well-known and widely accepted national UFO reporting facility. The hotline is utilized by law enforcement agencies, FAA branches, universities, etc. throughout the country.
